Apricity

Apricity refers to the warmth of the sun in winter, and that idea is central to this painting. Through the snow, bare trees, and long shadows, I wanted to capture the quiet beauty of the Canadian landscape and the sense of stillness, resilience, and reflection it can inspire. The title highlights the contrast between winter’s coldness and the comfort of sunlight, expressing how the Canadian landscape can feel both harsh and deeply comforting at the same time.
